The Author

Alejandro, Life Sommelier and designer of sensory experiences

It’s not what’s in the glass. It’s what it awakens in you.

My name is Alejandro, and for years I’ve been helping individuals and groups look within through a glass of wine.

I combine sensory tastings, metaphors, play, and moments of silence so that each sip becomes a question:

How am I living my life… and how do I want to live it from here on out?

Who am I when there are no spotlights or glasses

I’m a father of three daughters, a student of life, and in love with small rituals: a solo coffee, an unhurried walk, a well-poured glass at the end of the day.

For years I lived on autopilot—running between work, responsibilities, and obligations—while an inner voice kept whispering that I needed to stop.

That “stop” came through a few hard jolts: a divorce, a very complicated financial situation, and the feeling that if I kept going like this, I’d miss my life even while technically being present.

Wine had been with me for a long time, but that’s when it became something more: a way to listen to myself, to find words for what I was feeling, and to reinvent how I relate to myself, to others, and to time.

Today I’m still a normal guy—with good days and bad days—but I’ve chosen to live each season like a tasting: watching, smelling, savoring… and learning.

From pouring glasses to guiding processes

I started with “classic” tastings: wines, cheeses, pairings.
People came to try things, learn, and have a good time.

Little by little, I noticed something:

  • When we talked about aromas, memories showed up..
  • When we talked about textures, conversations about relationships, work, or fears surfaced.
  • When we talked about the finish, a quiet question appeared: “And my life—what does it taste like right now?”

Without planning it, the tastings became spaces for reflection.
The glass was an excuse to talk about what matters: how we treat ourselves, what we allow, what we take for granted, and what we no longer want to carry.

That’s where the idea of a "The Life Sommelier Method"comes from: someone who doesn’t just serve wine, but helps others taste their own story with curiosity, honesty, and care.

When life swirled like a glass

I didn’t get here through calm—I got here through crisis.

There was a moment when everything blended together:

  • The end of a life plan.
  • Financial worries, debt, and the fear of not making it to the end of the month.
  • Being away from what you love most in the world.

I felt tired, scattered, and deeply lost..

Instead of running away, life kept pushing me toward an idea that was simple and radical at the same time:

“I can’t change everything on the outside, but I can change the way I take it in.”

I started creating small rituals with myself, writing, designing sensory experiences, and above all, listening to what my body and emotions were trying to tell me.

Out of that path came The Life Sommelier Method, a way to look inward with the same attention we bring to tasting a great wine.

What I do (and what I don’t)

I’m not a guru, an enlightened coach, or a spiritual master.
I’m a person in process—like you—who found in wine and the senses a powerful tool to organize the mind and listen to the heart.

In my work, you’ll find:

  • Sensory metaphorsthat are easy to grasp, so we can talk about deep topics without technical jargon.
  • Simple rituals you can bring into daily life to interrupt autopilot.
  • Uncomfortable but necessary questions, always with respect and care
  • Safe spaceswhere you can feel, cry, laugh, and share without judgment.
  • A very practical, grounded approach, no magical promises, no fluff.

And what you won’t find:

  • Miracle recipes.
  • Empty “quick self-help” slogans.
  • The idea that “if you want it, you can do anything.” Sometimes we can’t do it all—and it’s okay to say that.

Wine as a mirror, not an escape

Wine, for me, isn’t an escape.
It's a mirror.

It’s not about drinking more, it’s about drinking better: with intention, presence, and respect for what we carry inside.

  • A glass can be the start of a long-overdue conversation with yourself.
  • A tasting can become a compass to understand what you’re holding, what you’re repressing, or what you need to release.
  • A pairing can teach you how two seemingly opposite things (like sweet and bitter, strength and delicacy) can coexist in the same moment of your life.

I work with wine because it’s beautiful, complex, and honest.
Like us.

My house rules

There are a few things that are non-negotiable for me when I design experiences and share my work:

  • Honesty: I don’t sell anything I wouldn’t buy myself.
  • Care: you’re a person first, a participant second. Your emotional well-being matters.
  • Respect for timing: every process has its pace—just like every wine needs its rest.
  • Humor: laughing at ourselves is also a way of healing.
  • Beauty: I believe in the power of aesthetics (light, silence, music, the right glass) to open inner spaces.

This might be your path too if…

Puede que el The Life Sommelier Method and the experiences I design—might be for you if:

  • You’ve been on autopilot for a long time and you want to stop without blowing everything up.
  • You like wine and food, but you feel like data and technicalities aren’t enough. que datos y tecnicismos.
  • You sense you need to review how you’re living, but the word “therapy” feels overwhelming.
  • You’re curious to explore your emotions in a sensory, practical, and creative way..
  • You value intimate, well-cared-for spaces with people who are also in process.

Shall we toast?

If what you’ve read resonates with you, I’d love for us to stay in touch.

You can start wherever you feel like:

  • Read the book “The Life Sommelier Method” and do your own inner tastings.
  • Experience a sensory journey with me—group or one-on-one.
  • Or simply write to me and tell me what season of life you’re in right now.

Sometimes change begins with something as simple as pouring a glass, taking a deep breath, and daring to look within..
